I'm am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) licensed in Florida. I received my post-graduate education from Capella University. I have been counseling for 10 years. I am married with 5 adult children, and 3 grandchildren. I enjoy helping people learn how to live their best life, focusing on staying in the moment. Your journey of mental healing will include letting go of the past, staying in the present moment, and not fearing the future.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect:

Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles and barriers that are keeping them from living their best lives. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions:

I take a Person-Centered approach to therapy. My clients have successfully used their personal strengths to overcome their barriers. By showing my clients how to identify and use their internal resources, they become more successful at sustaining long-term relief from mental health disorders. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) are also approaches that are frequently used.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve:

Being from a family with deep-rooted generational trauma, I am able to genuinely connect with my clients from a deeper level of trauma understanding. I often work with teens and young adults, as well as First Responders and their families. I have successfully completed the Cultural Competency Training sponsored by the UCF Psychology Clinic Advanced Clinical Training Services at the University of Central Florida. This certifies my competence in understanding the First Responder culture.
